1. Lumpini Park

Bangkok's green lung. This massive park is perfect for a walk, a picnic, or just watching the resident monitor lizards. You can even rent swan paddleboats for a small fee if you're feeling adventurous.

2. Chatuchak Weekend Market

Even if you don't buy anything, wandering through the world's largest weekend market is an experience. With over 15,000 stalls, it's a feast for the senses. A great place to get lost with a friend.

3. Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC)

Located in the heart of the Siam shopping district, the BACC offers several floors of contemporary art, design, and photo exhibitions, usually for free. A great air-conditioned escape from the heat.

4. Wat Saket (The Golden Mount) - (Almost Free)

There's a very small entrance fee for foreigners (around 50 baht), but the panoramic views of old Bangkok from the top are priceless. It's a peaceful temple and a great workout climbing the 300+ steps.

5. Asiatique The Riverfront

Take the free shuttle boat from Saphan Taksin BTS station and enjoy the river views. Asiatique is an open-air mall with a market-like feel. Walking along the riverfront promenade at sunset is a great free date idea.

6. Erawan Shrine

A famous Hindu shrine right in the middle of a bustling intersection. It's fascinating to watch the traditional Thai dancers and worshippers making offerings. A powerful cultural experience in the heart of the city.
